A photo of the loco in everyday use at Bournemouth West in April 1963. At that time the loco was then fitted with a multiple-jet blastpipe and large diameter chimney.

The class Q was introduced in 1938 - a late example of the classic British inside cylinder 0-6-0 goods loco, but more modern than a first glance may suggest.

This is the power reverser in detail, controlled from the footplate by a rotary rod.

Running in its Southern Railway identity as 541, the loco departs from Horsted Keynes station tender first with a train of Southern Railway green coaches.

In action in 2018 with a very mixed train including a crane and its runner wagon followed by a Southern Railway open wagon and a Southern Railway van.
