Built for internal use within Horwich works of the Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway, the diminutive size of 'Wren' doesn't prevent it from showing all the features of the standard gauge locos it helped to build.

On 'Wren's footplate full size ideas reduced for the 18 inch gauge loco. Note the round firebox.

'Wren's boiler pressure gauge. It might be small but it's red line is at 180 psi just like contemporary full size locos.
