After passing through the tunnel at Grosmont, 29 smokes it up past the shed and workshops at Grosmont back in the 1980s.

In the early days of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, 29 crosses the river at Water Ark.

At Grosmont station. Notice the unusual cab shape. This was fitted to allow the loco to pass through the very restricted tunnel to reach the coal staiths at Sunderland.

On the climb to Goathland, 29 approaches the overbridge at Beck Hole back in the 1980s.

A nostalgic view of 29 and 2392 in the early days of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway in November 1973 - the year the railway began public operations. Notice the line of cottages in the background - demolished to allow extensions to accommodation at the depot. Behind the locos stands the repair shed, still incomplete in 1973.

A long way further south than the loco's normal territory at the Great Western Society's Didcot site, 29 makes a guest appearance at the Great Western Society's Diamond Jubilee Gala in the summer of 2021.

29 provided an unusual sight at Alresford station, far away from its working life on colliery lines in North East England. Here it is hauling Southern Railway passenger stock during the Mid Hants Railway's Spring Steam Gala on the 27th April 2024. Sights like this are only possible in railway preservation!

Back home on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, 29 has arrived at Pickering station with J27 2392 during at the railway's Annual Steam Gala on 28th September 2024
