Like all Shays, the cylinders are on the right hand side of the offset boiler. This is a two cylinder, two truck loco. Note the flexible drive shaft to the leading truck in this photo.

'Shay', which is at least an appropriate name, is displayed at Nambour. It is the rebuild of two Shays, 'Dulong' (2091 of 1908) and 'Mapleton' (2800 of 1914). The rebuild took place in 1944 using the best bits of the two locos.
