Another view of this interesting product of Dubs' Glasgow works. The British crane tank was an unusual specimen often found lurking in industrial locations or locomotive workshops, as is the case with this one.

Detail shot of the crane's operating rod and straight cut gears. Notice the small diamond shaped plate which records that it is 'Dubs Patent. I bet it made some interesting noises in operation.

In the cab of this interesting old Glasgow built crane tank loco. Prominent on the right of the photo is the drive for slewing the boiler mounted crane.

The old tender coupled behind the crane tank loco to extend it's operational range. This is from a scrapped H class loco of 1878. Notice the wooden buffers and the tool box between the wheels. See Robin's note for more information.

The other end of the old tender shows the conventional buffing gear and coupling. The tender the loco used when in operation was of the six wheel type so this one is used to illustrate the way it operated.

Close up of of the old tender running gear and tool box. The tender originally ran behind crane tank No3, known as 'Polly'. This loco was restored as a tank engine at which freed the tender to be added to No2 at North Williamstown.
