This unique locomotive is was originally built as a streamlined 4-6-6T (Henschel & Sohn, Kassel 22501/1939) as No. 61 002, intended for use on the high-speed Henschel-Wegmann trains, Berlin-Dresden/Hamburg but, of course, WW2 intervened. Photographed outside Saalfeld station on 6 May 1992.
